It is the responsibility of each resident to follow the Merrimac Homeowners Association Pool Rules in order to maintain a safe environment for all to enjoy.
- The Merrimac swimming pool is for Association members in good standing and their guests only.
- Merrimac Homeowner’s Association reserves the right to issue and require membership ID cards.
- Guest Policy:
- Each member of the Association is allowed to bring up to two (2) guests to the pool and is responsible for each guest abiding by the posted rules.
- During a swim meet hosted by Merrimac, the Merrimac guest policy shall be expanded to also include:
- Any member of the visiting team(s), so long as each and every member of a visiting team is a resident of the Association they represent.
- Parents, guardians, family members and supporters of visiting teams, shall also be permitted on the deck as guests, however they may not use either the swimming or wading pool.

All members and guests enter the pool at their own risk and agree to release Merrimac Homeowner’s Association Inc., its members, officers and directors from any liability for any injury, loss of life or loss of personal property.
- Each Member and their guests must obey the lifeguard(s) at all times. Lifeguards are authorized to eject members and/or their guests for inappropriate behavior.
- Once every hour, the pool will be cleared for a period of fifteen minutes, from the :45 to the top of the hour
- No one is allowed in the pool or on the pool deck unless a lifeguard is present.
- The pool will be closed during inclement weather and/or when the outside temperature is below 70 degrees.
- Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. (Merrimac Parental Consent Form for Children 12 and Under)
- Children are required to pass a deep end test to be allowed beyond the 5’ marker without flotation devices.
- If the pool exceeds capacity, an additional adult swim may be called to reduce the pool load.
- The wading pool is reserved for children 6 years and younger.
- Members are required to keep their area of the pool deck cleaned up during their visit and upon leaving the pool.

Everyone must shower before entering either pool.

Sick individuals are excluded from using the pool. Persons with infectious diseases, open sores, recent vaccinations or ear infections will not be allowed in the water.

Persons who have had diarrhea within the last 2 weeks may not use the pool.

Proper swim attire is required for anyone in the water. Babies must wear rubber pants or swim diapers. Diapers are not allowed in the pool.

In the event a member of the Association, their dependent or their guest has a fecal accident which requires the closure and draining of the pool, the member of the Association is responsible for any and all costs associated with draining and refilling of the pool.

NO glass containers of any kind are permitted in the pool or pool deck area.

NO alcohol is permitted in the pool or pool deck area.

NO smoking is permitted in the pool or pool deck area.

NO horseplay or unnecessary roughness in the pool or restrooms.

NO running on the pool deck.
-
NO diving, flips or cartwheels or pushing others into the pool.

NO spitting, spouting of water or blowing of the nose is permitted in the pool.

NO sitting or hanging on the lane lines.

NO playing or hanging on ladders.

NO air inflated devices of any kind shall be used as the only means to support a non-swimmer.

NO animals or pets in the pool or on the pool deck.

Small inflatable toys may be enjoyed, but only at lifeguards’ discretion. Large rafts (over 60” x 30” may only be used during adult swim.\

The clubhouse is closed during pool hours.

The pool deck and pool are closed and off limits before and after pool hours, with the exception of swim team practice, when the swim team shall have paid certified lifeguards on deck at all times anyone is on the pool deck or in either the swimming or wading pool.
